Our Consulting Coordinator will contact you to ensure all your computers are LEAP-compliant. Provided the computers are compliant, the Consulting Coordinator will assign your firm a Certified Independent Consultant to arrange your installation date and time with you. If you are getting a data transition, a data transition specialist will contact you to discuss your transition details and arrange a date and time for collecting the data. At the time of installation, your CIC will log on to each computer and install LEAP (approximately 30 minutes per machine.) During installation, your CIC will customize your LEAP datafile with your letterhead, invoice templates, staff details, etc.

LEAP provides installation and training conducted remotely, eliminating the need for on-site visits and ongoing online support. In addition, LEAP is there for law firms throughout the entire process – our dedicated staff assists firms after purchase to ensure current systems are compliant with LEAP and the transition from old systems is seamless.

You will have access to our HelpDesk technicians in the US, who are all LEAP employees. HelpDesk is available from 6 AM-8 PM Eastern Monday-Friday with quick response times. In addition, you will have access to the LEAP Help Center with how-to articles, discussions, news & events, feedback, training videos, etc. You will also have a Practice Management Advisor to ensure you are seeing a return on your investment and using all the features of LEAP.

Following the installation, we offer three training sessions: the initial training, the bookkeeper training, and the follow-up training. The training is done live online with your CIC with no more than 3-4 staff members per session for approximately 3 hours each session.

• Initial Training: Introduction to LEAP, how to create matters, how to create contacts/cards, enter all relevant matter information, how to create documents, letters, and emails, how to enter time, etc. In other words, how to manage your electronic cases in LEAP!

• Bookkeeper Training: Introduction to LEAP accounting, entering all Trust and Operating account transactions, invoicing, reports, links to the general ledger, etc.

• Follow-up Training: Additional feature training, Q&A session, etc.

LEAP provides new users with early training through LEAP Academy. Installed users can access LEAP University – a series of online, self-guided training courses. Learn with step-by-step instructions through engaging training videos on how to make the most out of the key features of LEAP. Anyone with a LEAP login instantly gains access to LEAP University. Additional training resources and webinars are available through LEAP Help Center– a dedicated resource center.

LEAP offers ongoing support for our customers to ensure success. Customers will be assigned a dedicated Practice Management Advisor and access to our Help Center, LiveChat, and LEAP University for ongoing support and training.

We have many training videos online through LEAP University that new and existing users can watch. We also run regular webinars for refresher training and hints & tips on new features. If you need additional online consulting assistance during your tenure with LEAP (say, training for new starters), the cost is between $150 and $250 per hour.

With the LEAP Desktop app, you can work offline. LEAP is a cloud solution. The documents and matters opened on a computer while working online will be cached locally. The data will be cached until the user rebuilds the data or wipes the temp files. The user can still access this information offline if the internet goes out. They can also create matters, documents, and time records offline. All the work the firm does offline will automatically sync to the firm's account on the LEAP servers the next time they access the internet.

The benefit of storing the data on AWS servers is that the firm has an industrial-strength server grid, so they do not experience the same downtime or lockouts with a private server (including private cloud servers). With AWS, even when one server goes down, another will kick in and continue to run. We have had this happen, and our clients don't even notice. You could still work offline even if all the servers went down in a natural disaster. The firm can see LEAP historical uptime here.

LEAP Desktop is built with a combination of 4D and Angular. Reports are built with C# (pronounced C Sharp) and .Net.

The firm owns the data stored with LEAP, and LEAP will not hand the data over to any third party without the firm's consent.
